Ye Takes A Stand

We live in the age of the uninteresting. A generation that views conformity like submission as the new cool. Through the new puritanical guidance counselor standards for hip, the likes of Sinatra, Lenny Bruce, and Orson Welles would have all been considered dangerous narcissists, and probably racist, because well everything is racist today. Our mainstream media hall monitors would have surely called in the mental health police to diagnose them. Not help them; if they even needed it in the first place, and then eventually just cancel them. How gross. We are officially living in the most boring version of the color grey. Orwell could not have even seen this level of mediocrity, and boredom coming. Unless you look and sound like the newscaster Jake Tapper, the actor Adam Scott, or comedian Trevor Noah and espouse empty diversity talking points, your days are numbered. Your "interesting-ness" will soon just be racism, or sexism, or some new ism that an overpriced windbag professor will soon create.

Which leads me to the new and consistent target of the uninteresting mediocre activist celebrity culture: Kanye West. Let me get this straight the same people who have been subtly supporting the burning down of everything America stands because of racial inequality against the black man; is now appalled and wanting to silence a black man based on him passionately celebrating his own free will? Attempting to empower his own community by example through traditional values? Am I getting this right? Did I miss something in the past four months?

How shallow the pool is for intellectual thought and morality like exploration our society now resides in. That a man, an extremely interesting man is deemed insane for hyperbolic performance art rooted in passionate truth in order to lift up his own struggling community. Has this new generation become so bland, that it is now entering the phase of being turned off by honest expressed thought?

Kanye went to South Carolina and pleaded with a downtrodden community. The black community; for the merits of life, and family over vice and ego. Those obvious ethical standards for a successful society are now deemed insane? Why? Because he did it un-owned by any mainstream left or right think tank ideology. He didn’t bring Stacey Abrams with him, or give CNN exclusive access. That’s it. Kanye is being smeared for creating his own tribe. Nothing more, nothing less. When a generation’s new religion is conformity, free thought is the enemy.

In 2016 29% of African Americans were married, while 48% of all Americans were. Also, 50% of African Americans have never been married in contrast to 33% of all Americans. In 2016 just under half (48%) of black women had never been married which is an increase from 44% in 2008 and 42.7% in 2005. (Pew Research Center)

In 2014-18, the share of families headed by single parents was 75% among African American families. (Census Bureau of Investigation)

A recent UNICEF report found that the U.S. ranked 34th on the list of 35 developed countries surveyed on the well-being of children. According to the Pew Institute, children under the age of 18 are the most impoverished age population of Americans, and African-American children are almost four times as likely as white children to be in poverty.

What has happened to the American cultural mindset? Think about it for a second. Most of us did not watch Kanye’s full event. We then were inundated by click-bait videos and articles that implored us to just nod along in the smearing of this man that is taking an honest, and real stand against the disintegration of the family in the black community.

“Don’t look into the full context, nothing to see here. He’s crazy, trust us. Also buy these vintage t-shirts you searched for four hours ago.”

Sincerely,

Instagram, Twitter, and The Today Show

An eccentric pop culture icon is now publicized as the enemy towards sanity because he is pleading for family values to save an impoverished, and crime stricken minority community. This entire saga in American history we are living through is based on demanding real societal change, is it not? And, now a man stands up and discusses the deep moral and ethical roots of the problem, and he has been smeared off to the side like a piece of trash.

Does he make hyperbolic statements through absurd requests, and metaphors? He sure does. But, no one has ever been heard without first making a splash. Or, Is he just crazy? I don’t know, and that’s not the point. Because once you look behind his cannon ball like splashes he’s maybe the only one out there in the mainstream discussing real and honest ways to make this country a better place.
